Dr. Chris Robbins, Principal

Dr. Robbins has been an educator since 1998. He earned his B.S. in Middle School and Secondary Education (grades 4-12) from Samford University in 1998 and his Masters (2003) and Educational Specialist (2005) degrees from UAB.  In 2011, he earned his Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from UAB / University of Alabama.

Dr. Robbins started his career teaching science at Berry Middle School, teaching at Berry from 1998-2005. From 2005-2011, Dr. Robbins proudly served as assistant principal at R.F. Bumpus Middle School, then accepted the challenge of opening the brand new Brock's Gap Intermediate School (grades 5 and 6) in Hoover 2011.  During the summer of 2012, Dr. Robbins returned "home" to Berry Middle School as Associate Principal and was later named Principal in August 2013. He is thrilled and proud to be back serving the teachers, students and families at Berry Middle School.

Dr. Robbins conducted his graduate and doctoral research in the areas of parental involvement, middle school interdisciplinary teaming, and adolescent development, the results of which were published by The School Community Journal in 2013. Dr. Robbins is also the author of several original presentations and training modules for pre-service, beginning and veteran teachers, such as "Why Can't We Be Friends?," "Ten Things an Adolescent Needs In Your Classroom," and "What Great Teams Do."  Dr. Robbins teaches and presents at the school and district level, as well as in university classrooms.  In 2017, Dr. Robbins was nominated by his school district for CLAS Middle School Principal of the Year. 

Outside of school, Dr. Robbins enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, teaching in his small group at church and working around the house.  He has been married to his wife since 1999 and is the proud father of three wonderful children.
